Sometimes, it feels like there’s an unspoken rule that we should only share the “good stuff.” The highlight reels, the polished updates, the silver linings. But life doesn’t always sit neatly inside a motivational quote. There are days when things simply feel heavy — when you’re frustrated, tired, or just over it. And yet, those moments are often the ones we hide the most. Maybe it’s because we don’t want to seem ungrateful, weak, or “negative.” But pretending everything’s fine when it isn’t only isolates us further.
Let’s be honest: frustration is part of being human. It’s the space between what we hoped for and what actually happened. It’s the traffic jam on the way to your big meeting, the relationship that keeps looping through the same argument, the work project that hits a wall right after you finally hit your stride. When we allow ourselves to admit we’re frustrated — not to wallow, but to feel — we give that energy a way out. Talking about it, journaling, or just naming the disappointment out loud can turn a closed door into a window.
The truth is, we grow in the grit just as much as we do in the glow. Learning to voice life’s frustrations without shame builds resilience and connection. It says, “I’m human, too.” So maybe it’s time we normalize the not-so-positives — not as signs of failure, but as proof that we’re still showing up, still feeling, still in it. And that’s something worth talking about.
Keep the faith and trust God is working everything for your good!
